Palworld App: REST API Port Cannot Be Exposed

For the Palworld app/docker container, I’m running into a problem. The Palworld devs have indicated that RCON is technically deprecated (see https:/ /docs.palworldgame.com/api/rcon/) and the REST API (see https:/ /docs.palworldgame.com/api/rest-api/palwold-rest-api/) will instead be supported going forward. The problem is that the Network Configuration section in the Truenas App has a spot for a server port and a RCON port, but nowhere to specify a REST API port. I tried to include a screenshot but this forum would not let add it, you can see it at https:/ /github.com/user-attachments/assets/235c626d-c103-4f66-bdfb-1d799d7d2f04.

Adding a field for the port would allow it to be exposed, which is helpful so that Python3 code and/or curl commands from outside the container can access the REST API if the user desires. I tried to write a docker exec command to access the REST API within the container itself, but the container is very stripped down and doesn’t have curl or Python3.

I’d prefer to avoid converting to a custom app because I want updates when they come out, but I think this is a change I could probably handle myself since I don’t think it requires any code changes to the underlying docker container (see https:/ /github.com/ich777/docker-steamcmd-server). Is there a way I could make this change and submit it for review?

Thanks, I didn’t know why my links were being blocked. I will take a look at the tutorial shortly.

Requests to add config fields for truenas apps should be filed directly on the apps section of the truenas github since the maintainers are rarely browsing the forum.
