Please bring back noVNC

I have recently tried other server operating systems, such as UNRAID and Proxmox. When showing the output of a VM in there, it was a much better experience. Not only did it not freeze every two minutes, but it also hat a working keyboard layout. Currently in TrueNAS, when using a QWERTZ keyboard in a VM, all the non-standard keys are messed up. The freezing, which a lot of users seem to experience, is also unacceptable imo.

As far as I know, noVNC was included in previous versions, but got removed, and everyone hated the removal.

Which version are you on? As far as i understand it, 25.10 already changed back to vnc instead of spice

You’re right, sorry I was still on 25.04. But there still no noVNC, right? You currently have to use an external client?

Looks like it, but I can’t confirm because I don’t use vms

it is but keys are still messed up for most of the world (only us-layout works), still need to install VNC server on the VM or use RDP for Windows

Yeah, same issue for me.

Sadly, as a Norwegian with a Norwegian keyboard layout, it is impossible to use noVCN or Spice on TrueNAS.

Do anyone know if the key mapping problem is reported as a bug?
