My plex for some reason won’t update new files i add anymore. It has the proper permissions the apps group is the group owner of the main plex media folder and it’s subdirectories in my main pool. It worked in the past and now just won’t work, it can still read all my media files it just doesn’t detect new media. What could be the issue? Has anyone else experienced this?
What version of SCALE you using? Did you do something (for example changed any settings or update) before this problem occurred?
No i changed nothing. I’m on Dragonfish-24.04.2.1 i just updated to Dragonfish-24.04.2.2 and still nothing.
Where are you storing the plex media on a path on the host? if yes what permission have you set it too? and when you add media what permission is that app set to?
The group owner of the plex media folder and it’s directory have the apps as the group owner and my main user as the user. Which are in my main pool owned by my main account in the nas. The apps group has full privileges on the plex media direcotories and can still play media just fine.
Hello. One here with the same problem. Today i added a new serie into my shared plex folder, but plex checks the libray but it can’t show the new folder.
I tryed configure media agents, rename the folder and the episode files, but nothing works.

It seems the newer files don’t have the apps groip how could i copy them into the plex media folder to have that group by default? What is the best way to set that up to easily copy new media and not have to change file group owner every time?
You need to set the ACL for the dataset so that permissions are applied recursively and to child data sets.
Can i get an example acl? after adding a mask and the apps user to the acl i can’t access my media anymore.
Thanks for the help mine isn’t as big as your but i followed the same idea of a media manager user to copy my files to my plex folder and everything is working as before thanks for the help
