Plex on 25.04 setup

Hey all so I have been using truenas for a number of years now. I was not aware that they were moving to a different way of using apps on the server platform.

I upgraded from 24.04 to 24.10 and discovered that all my apps had gone.

I installed new versions of the apps. When it come to setting up Plex I have been pulling my hair out.

So in the previous versions of truenas you
Can have Host Nerwokr box checked and all is well (able to access webui for Plex and direct access for devices) but when I select enable host network on the new version I cannot access webui. I just get a page full of code.

Is anyone else having this issue and if you have and found a fix then what is it please.

I have 1 network interface setup for truenas which please was also using.

Can anyone point me in the right direction or provide a new updated guide on getting Plex working with direct play and the ability to access the webui.

In addition to what @dan suggested, one thing I’ve done to make things easier is using a dedicated IP for Plex. I add an alias to my main interface and then assign it to my Plex application. Back in the day when I was running it in a Jail it was easier but with the new apps it’s been a little more difficult. However they have made it easier with the new “Host IP” section in the apps. This allows you to select which IP on the main system to use for the app.
