I have the PLEX app running on TrueNAS under the latest TrueNAS build. Its been a struggle overall with everything, but things seems to be working except the fact that my PLEX app will not see my HDHomeRun Flex 4K. I installed plex on a system as a test and it works just fine, so this is a networking thing with the app under the new TrueNAS. Even adding the IP manually does not work. I have it bound to the “host network” for the app install. The PLEX system is working and I can connect from my PC and all TV’s, so this is something between the app and the HDHomeRun. They are onthe same network. Any help is MUCH appreciated here… im close to scaping the entire thing and just running WIndows…
Thanks in advance!!!
I can verify that this is something in the TrueNAS network. I created a VM/Instance using Ubuntu and same issue occurs. Using a system outside of TrueNAS works just fine.
Figured out the issue…
So what was the issue? I’m dealing with the same thing.
Im not seeing my reply… so the issue was I had a bond of two NICs with link aggregation LACP. When set that way it would not work, changed it to FAILOVER and it would then see the HomerunHD… hope that helps!
I’m getting ready to upgrade truenas core to scale. I have plex with HDHOMERUN that I use for live tv and recording tv programs. Wondering if you have any advise
Im sorry I did not see this and I like to reply, support the community. I have it running with no issues at all, the issue I had was on the network side and using LACP, that seems to break the HDHomeRun from “seeing” the PLEX so just be aware of that… not sure if there is a fix or if its even “broken” but just be aware of that issue.
I upgraded and all is well. I also use tailscale for remote access.
