Hello, this is my first time using TrueNAS and we had a power outage over the weekend and now the NAS is on and I see the console - however I cannot connect to the web interface using another machine on the network.
The IP was set before but now it doesn’t appear so as I am not seeing an IP in the console view.
The error is: web interface could not be accessed. Please check network configuration.
When I select option 1 it returns with:
ix0
igb0
igb1
igb2
igb3
How can I identify which network interface or driver is used? This is a linux system. Someone else set this up and they are unavailable for weeks…
Hello there, sorry you are experiencing this problem…
I note that you have posted here in the TrueNAS CORE category, but you are apparently using TrueNAS SCALE. I’m a Core guy with no experience on Scale, but will try to help you here, hoping also that a Scrale person will come along and rescue us both…
The real reason that I suspect you have yet received no help is that you have provided so little information about your system … See “My system specs” below for some data ideas.
It sounds to me as if your system has been unable to receive an IP from a DHCP server - this may be because your power outage affected that function (unlikely because apparently you have a functioning network?), or more likely a bad initial configuration.
I suggest that you select the Configuration Menu item 2 and check to see if you have a gateway IP specified. If you do not, then enter the IP address of your router (which is most likely, for a basic network, to be both your gateway and your DHCP server), save and reboot.
If that information was indeed missing, then I would expect the default interface to pick up an IP and allow you to boot to the GUI.
