raidz1 has the write speed of a single disk. If it’s a single vdev you’re limited by your pool.
So i have 4 16TB HDDs, one for parity and the rest for storage.
How else could i set it up?
you could do striped mirrors, which would give you 2 disk write speed, but only disks for capacity. With those amount of drives you won’t be able to max out the 10gig nic.
So if im understanding correctly any kind of Raidz will have the sped of a single disc. And with stripped mirros you lose half the disc and double the speed?
simplyfied, yes.
HDD are very expensive in my country and its not worth it then with striped mirrors.
