Good day folks,
I am totally new here and unfamiliar with the nature and rules of these forums. so please forgive and unintentional mistakes here.
I am running a 3 dataset system. Namely; cad, accounts, internal
inside cad i want a folder named master BOP with ACL. I cannot use master_bop because the macros for our cad software wont recognize these folders.
is there any way to to this on scale 25.04.2.4?
i have already purchased a used server, bunch of drives and we are committed to this path for our SMB share.
If this is relevant. we are small business with 4 people accessing the master bop folder, 2 people will access it super rarely
In general using spaces in folder names / dataset names, even server names is a mistake that will cause you intermitten grief for years to come.
Can you not use masterBOP?
Hi, basically someone made the whole macros set for solidworks with spaces in folder names. I would basically have to bear the cost of modification of all instances where locations are specified in the code.
Anyways, what will go wrong using spaces in folder names on a server? Does this apply to datasets only or to folders inside datasets, which users have created?
Both.
Its just bad practise to use spaces in dataset, folder or even file names. Mostly it works, it will just cause grief in time
