Check if spice has its own language setting?
hi, no there’s no such option in spice who’s poorly manageable.
Hi all,
I have the same problem with my azerty keyboard.
I have not found any solution yet
Best regards

I have the same problem on Incus virtual machines with my French azerty keyboard. The virtual machines are configured with the French keyboard (azerty) but the US keyboard (qwerty) remains active.
See this post : Linux Jails (containers/vms) with Incus - #276 by claude
I don’t have a solution either. It’s very embarrassing. Incus is not usable under these conditions.
I don’t have this problem with applications installed in Docker (ex: Nextcloud, Wordpress).
After some new tests the problem come from SPICE itself.
I just install a little Linux Mint OS and I choose the keyboard “French (US)”. The letters are on the good place but not the signs and the numbers.
Then, I installed openssh-server to get an SSH access without SPICE and it works good !
Hope Truenas will find a solution to that for the foreign users.
How did you install it, in an Incus VM?
How did you install it ?
@claude what does un Incus VM mean ? I juste create a Linux VM under “Virtualization”. Some parameters and “hop” let’s go.
For SSH directly in the Mint VM when it’s online :
apt-get install openssl-server
systemctl start ssh
but you will find much tutorial about that I will find a link for you.
Thanks for your reply, that’s clearer for me.
Truenas Scale 25.04 RC1 uses “Incus” as its virtualization system, which is where I’m having keyboard problems.

Great !! I’m near Strasbourg ! Bon séjour
So for me the problem isn’t « incus » but « spice ». The problem is the same in version 24.10.2.
Is just that foreign keyboards are not mapped correctly…
