Strange network and IPMI behavior

Today I made some network changes on two TrueNAS appliances and noticed some strange behavior.

First thing that made me skeptical, was that I was not alway able to connect over 10.10.50.2 on VLAN50 to the webGUI, but for the other VLAN20 10.10.20.2 it worked.

Changed some interface settings and saved them. The previous lockout made me think, maybe it is not a good idea that I only allow webGUI access by binding it to these two IPs. Especially considering that one of them is DHCP and I am not even sure if bind would change when getting a new IPv4 from DHCP.
So I switched back to 0.0.0.0 and ::
After saving that, access to the webGUI was completely gone. Damn. Let’s see if I can reproduce that on my TrueNAS mini X+. Also changed some interface settings, then bind to all, saved and boof, same thing happens there.

So I fired up IPMI, to see if something went wrong with the network interfaces. I saw the IPs there, but was still not able to access. So I wanted to reconfigure the network settings, but I can’t enter into them. When pressing 1, no matter if by real or virtual keyboard, it will just show (arg: 1)

Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Hmm… without changing anything, just some waiting and a reboot, it is all back up and running again. Maybe I forgot to save apply the network settings?

I can’t really tell what the issue was.
