System getting slow after some time - restart fixes it. 25.04.0

I was just gonna ask about it being useful for a game server, then i remembered that if i run that on an SSD, the Arc wont be much faster…

What about working on Office-Documents? Does it make a real difference? I mean the files are max 100MB

Nope. As mentioned, use your server for a while and then take a look at arc_summary. Then decide if you need it or not.

honestly cache slog isnt really needed unless you have a huge system if you look in zfs stats it never ever touch it i made that misstake before for speed or “caching” more ram is really way to go and more disks

A SLOG is a different beast entirely that only ever written to when doing sync writes and only read from if something goes awry. The above discussion was primarily about an L2ARC.

Okay, turns out you guys were right. The problem is not fixed anbd the system slowed down again considerably. Please correct me if i misunderstood you but:

Ram usage isnt the issue

The Hard Drives arent either given the system runs on an SSD

The CPU is almost at 0% usage

vm-swappiness also didnt fix the issue (it might have delayed it a little)

So given those arent factors, where do i continue?

whats in your dmesg when it goes slow are you by anychance getting perf.kernal_max_sample_rate Decreased from x to x ?
