Hi, as the title says, my transmission hasn’t started for a month now. Before that, it was working well. I’ve tried reinstalling it a few times, but the issue remains the same. I don’t see any error messages—just that the app is deploying. However, it’s been a few days, so I don’t think I need to wait any longer.
Same Transmission deployment problem happened to me on Truenas 24.04.2 but this was after I moved the ix-applications dataset to a different pool. So I switched to installing Deluge which has worked flawlessly for several weeks now.
Hi, thanks for the tip! Deluge is working for me.
If anyone knows how to get Transmission working again, I’m open to suggestions, but for now, Deluge is doing the job.
Yes, sorry I didn’t provide more details earlier. I’m running TrueNAS Scale Dragonfish-24.04.2.5. When it arrived, I deleted every snapshot of my ixapplication folder, and since then, one of my Nextcloud instances hasn’t worked properly—just like Transmission. I installed Transmission using the official app.
Transmission was dropped by that maintainer (onedr0p) back in March:
Since 24.04.2 Kubernetes-based apps are likely not being maintained anymore you are not going to be able to get a replacement app through official means.
Either upgrade to 24.10.X and it’s Docker-based apps or install Transmission as a Custom App using a container that is maintained, linuxserver has one for example.
Hi, thanks! I hadn’t noticed that.
I’ve upgraded to 24.10.X, so now it’s working (and it also allowed me to do some other things. I’m not entirely sure why I updated but, why not ? ).
