Trouble installing TrueNAS Community latest version

I’m getting the following error when booting from my TrueNAS install flash disk.
error: terminal ‘serial’ not found

then

Start TrueNAS Scale installation
Start TrueNAS Scale installation (115200) is displayed.

I select Start TrueNAS Scale installation and the screen goes black and nothing else happens. The same thing occurs regardless of which installation I select.

I have a USB 2.0 8GB Flashdisk created woth balenaEtcher, and it is plugged into a USB 2.0 port.

My computer has a Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite AX motherboard,AMD 7800X3D processor, 32GB Crucial DDR5 dram, and Samsung EVO980 NVME boot drive.

Secure boot is disabled, Legacy USB is enabled.

Please advise.

I redid the flash disk using Rufus and selected DD mode. I got the same results. Right after selecting to install TrueNAS Scale, the flash drive activity light blinked a few times, then stopped with only a black screen.

Try going into the BIOS and make sure you don’t have any overclocking on RAM. Secure boot off is good. You can try installing as UEFI instead of legacy.

Other than that, you just have to try what settings aren’t working as the blank screen doesn’t give any hints. You can try a forum search and see if any of the prior posts helps the the blank screen issue.
