Unable to use web interface with Ubiquity Dream Router 7

Hello,

I am a very new when it comes to truenas and I recently bought a Ubiquity Dream 7 Router. After setting it up I am unable to access the web interface of the nas. I am able to ping the gateway, the static IP I reserved, and can even access the file pools when connecting via SMB, but am unable to connect the web interface. I am running 25.04.01 Can anyone advise?

This sound like a problem to ask in the Ubiquity forums, as the device changed is from them…

how are you trying to access it? are you entering a name or IP for the url in the web browser?

I am trying to connect via the IP address in my browser. I will also note that connecting to the NAS via HDMI will show ‘The Web Interface cannot be accessed’

That indicates it isn’t picking up an IP address via DHCP. Is the cable connected on both ends? Do you have link lights on both ends? Have you tried a different cable? Is the port active on the UDR? If you have more than one network port on the NAS, are you sure you’re plugged into the right one?

if as you said you can access SMB services on the NAS it has to be getting an IP address I would think. can you upload a screen shot of the NAS console screen with the exact error?

Sure this is what I’m seeing on the console.

Well, yes within the network config all of the DHCP is set to empty string but I have a bridge with an alias and have that ‘fixed’ in my router, that IP is getting pinged just fine. I am also able to use SMB and even my plex server, its just the web interface that does not seem to be loading.

Given what you describe to @dan above and the screenshot it sounds like the web interface is not “bound” to the static IP you configured. If memory serves TrueNAS will bind the first interface it sees and if you add static alias entries you need to go in and specifically add those to the list to accept traffic on for the web interface. I’m not sure how to check this from the console though. In the GUI it’s under System → General Settings → GUI.

This was the ticket! thank you so much Spunky, I was losing my mind

Awesome, glad that resolved it and I was able to assist.
