Windows network can't access pools

I upgraded to TrueNas 13. My network wouldn’t access TrueNas and activate my previously mapped drives.
Somehow I changed a permission on vol1 and the ‘drives’ I created are now visible in Windows Explorer but I can’t access the data.
I’m fairly certain it is a TrueNas permissions issue but having changed permissions on everything to try and match vol1 I am getting nowhere.
Is there a specific ACL config that will work?
At my wits end.

Maybe start by first looking for errors in /var/log/samba4/log.smbd.

I can’t find the log using shell. How do I access it?
Also, I rolled back to Truenas 12 so any rubbish I put in before is gone (I hope).

I’ve posted a few times since I began upgrading from 11 to 13 because my Windows computer asked for a username and password but wouldn’t recognise it.
i discovered a solution.
When the upgrade is complete and Windows asks for credentials:

  1. disconnect TrueNas from the network
  2. reboot the computer
  3. disconnect the mapped drives
  4. reboot the computer
  5. reconnect the TrueNas
  6. enter the TrueNas username in uppercase
  7. enter the password
    it worked for me.
Nothing to do with permissions inside TrueNas.
