Good day, all. I am new to Truenas and generally a novice regarding CLI interfaces. I have created a truenas scale system with a data pool of:
6 x RAIDZ2 | 12 wide with 4 TB HDD. I started to set it up and decided to reboot the system after I set up the pool, dataset and shares. Even though it says that my data pool has no errors and I don’t have any unused drives, it states that I have 7 unsigned drives now. why is this and how do I correct this?

I have 2 VM Linux Ubuntu OS installed but not configured yet for Plex and jellyfin

Thanks for the listings. All looks in order to me, except the question whether a 9286CV, whose part number looks like RAID controller, can really be “lobotomsed” to a true HBA.
So where are the unassigned drives?

Did you try rebooting?
Rebooting is what caused this anomaly in the first place. I have rebooted it after but it is still showing this.
xtorix, do you have a recommended HBA to connect the Netapp JBOD?
Any “plain HBA” based on LSI 2308 (9207, etc.) or 3008 (9300).

so when I go to storage - manage disks it shows the list of disks and 24 disks show as not in HDD0 pool. under the pool column instead of it saying HDD0 it says NA.
Why is it showing two HBAs when you wrote about one? I would assume one is from the JBOD; both have old (very old in the first) firmware.
Is this a normal anomaly in the truenas system? I plan to install 2 more Netapp racks. this seems it will create a problem as it will try and assign these drives again and I will not know which ones to leave out.
What you are experiencing is not standard behaviour.

so I believe one of the HBA is used for the internal backplane for the 12 bays in the inclosure. the other is connected to external NetApp racks
So you actually have two HBAs in there: A 2308 (flashed 9286) on the right P20 firmware, and a 3008 on an old P10 firmware—should be P16.00.12.00. What’s this second HBA, and how is everything wired?
I would suggest flashing both to more recent firmware, especially the 10.0.0.0 one.
P20.00.07.00 is the latest version for the 9200 family.
The 9300 should be flashed to P16.00.12.00 (link in the resource cited by @Davvo). And we can now hope that this will bring everything in order.
I believed version 24 to be available.
P24 is for the 9400 family, which is not in JGreco’s resource.
P16 for the 9300.
P20 for the 9200.
