i just got a Mini X+ core and am trying to change it to a scale. i downloaded 25.04 and installed via usb. now the device is not booting to the new install. i get the uefi shell after the install and reboot. there is no hd in bios. the system hd shows as a block device in the uefi shell.
on install i said yes to the uefi option.
installing said it was successful.
any suggestions?

What did you use to make the bootable image? Any chance CSM isn’t disabled in bios?
Also confused if the boot drive was successfully upgraded & now doesn’t work, or if the usb drive that has Scale image on it isn’t appearing.

the usb worked. i went through the install process.
i used windows and rufus for the usb creation from the iso. the only thing changed in the bios is boot device and order.
the bios uefi doesn’t seem to see the new install.
Have you tried it in this specific order?
Switching bios boot method to UEFI (not dual or legacy)
Reinstall SCALE 24.10.2 to the M.2
reboot
remove USB install media
bios setup
select the correct drive LABLED TRUENAS!
i was able to install the 25.04.1 on a ssd, didn’t seem to be using UEFI though??
switched to ventoy for usb. having issues with 25.04.0 & 25.04.0 isos and booting from ventoy usb. installed 24.04.2.5 iso from the ventoy usb
that seems to be working fine. boots from the uefi hd.
probably just going run with the 24. install that worked and update it to current 25. version.
yeah ventoy and 25.04 don’t get along, there’s a bug preventing the boot with it.
