True nas build

Before that, lets try a few things - if you go to “Discover Apps” & the hit “Refresh”, does it work?

If you go to Apps configuration, then unset & afterwards re-set the pool, does it work?

Can you ping github.com ?

Well, I still run like 24.10.

I dont like, how Ix Systems implements (however I think otherwise it is really a great product that I like and use on my full 3-2-1 backup system), and announces (sometimes rather significant ones) changes to their systems, by removing regression or normal switch over between the options.

My wote is for:

  • Save configuration file to an external place
  • Export all your pools from the GUI
  • If you can afford, buy a new , about 128GB Drive (SSD/nvme) for the boot partition
  • Put aside your current boot drive, to have a working fall back solution
  • INstall the new drive, into the machine
  • INstall TrueNAS on this drive
  • Either upload the previously saved configuration file, or set it up new
  • Import the poolz, scrub them
  • Istall Plex from the app store
  • Set it up
  • Use and enjoy.

I’ll try that again when I get home tonight after work

Yeah I thought about doing that as well. My mobo had slots for nve drives. I will get one for boot and another one for just apps

no i tried that even after an update

Any results when you ping github.com ?

yep can ping github.com from the shell in truenas

Alright guys I exported the pool, did a fresh install, and apps will now install! Yeah. Got a plex server up and running. I have a Nvidia 1080 in my server that I want to use for transcode. It found it but when I tell it to use it I get an error message. Any ideas?

Long story short, nvidia no longer supports drivers for your card, but there is a workaround.

@Jake_Hinebaugh what version of TrueNAS? You showed 25.04.2.5 earlier

Still the same version. Just did a fresh install

So either upgrade or don’t use hardware ecleration. We’ll that’s pretty awesome

Naw, the post I linked to literally has a work around that will let you continue to use your 1080

Yeah I read the post. I kinda understand what I was supposed to do. I’m planning on upgrading. I also am thinking of just getting a Intel a310 card and putting my 1080 in my desktop computer
