WebGUI lost after upgrade from 25.04 to 25.04.1

++++I ran the TN-Bench TN-Bench -- An OpenSource Community TrueNAS Benchmarking and Testing Utility - #23 by NickF1227.
But was out of the office and the webgui logged out , so i could not see the results. ++++No Impact on webgui issue+++++

Then i upgrade from 25.04 to 25.04.1, after upgrade no webgui, although i could ping my NIC on the regular IP adress.

Cold restart did not resolve anything either.

Then i tried to connect from my Laptop, no luck.

Checked my windows network and could see my samba folders and even look in them, my daily backup from my desktop was added to the files.

How to re-install acces to my webgui ? Tried with WINSCP, as Root user, but no luck either.

Any suggestions ?

**** Solved***
The WEBGUI IP adres was not specified, apparently the 25.04.1 is more sensitive, if that is not specified in the System/General Setting/GUI

solution: roll back to 25.04 via console , set the web gui IP, upgrade to 25.04.1
( or set before upgrade)

Setting an IP in Console1) , does not solve this WEBgui problem, only assigns an IP to an NIC

Hi @Jermak,

I’m a bit confused about the order of operations here.

You ran the benchmark and you werent home. Okay.

How did you upgrade the NAS? You signed into the WebUI?

Can you plug it into a keybaord and monitor? What does it say?

WinSCP is for transferring files over SSH not for remotely administering a machine.

no, went to make a cup of Tea, according to your post it can take upto 10 minutes.
How can you re-run the bench ?

If you don’t have access to the WebUI then you have bigger problems than benchmarking. Do you have any screenshots or information about whats on the screen of the NAS?

Upgrade was run from the webGui.

The monitor and screen is a bit of a hassle, so i haven’'t tried to look what message i get there…
but the Nic works ,
so what else can i do besides re-run an installation and put the back-up on top.

I don’t have enough information to provide any good feedback here.

If the WebUI is not working, we’d need to know what you see on the local console of the NAS as a starting point.

OK , will connect the screen tomorrow.
no other way to get into the Nas ?

Do you have IPMI remote management like HP ILO/Dell IDRAC/Cisco CIMC?

NO, network too small

Its not about the network, its about the computer you installed TrueNAS on. What is it?

HP microserver Gen 10 , Opteron. the main Nic is a 10 GB HP card,
the UTP on the server is not assigned, could assign it via the console, but does it help ?

I have owned one of those personally and I wrote a review on it at some point. It does have ILO but IIRC it was a licenced feature that you had to pay money for, and you would have had to set it up.

What is a UTP? Like Cat5 unshielded?

If the interface its plugged into is not configured, that would make it impossible to get to the WebUI…but I have no idea what change you made in your description could account for that being the source of your problem? Did you unplug it?

will let you know how i solved it tomorrow

Found a TV next door and an VGA cable from the attick.
in the Console : option 6) reset to default.
Rebooted and i got the option to choose 25.04 config.
finished the start-up and all the setting where there.

( Can try to upgrade to 25.04.1 again and see what happens again.)

even in the shell the Install line of the TN-bench was there.
Tried to re-install but that was fatel, as the Destination path already existed.

In the GitHub readme i cannot find the re-run prompt nor the location of the output/results.
Because the webgui went asleep/Loggedout i could not delete the dataset (as prompted), how to delete it manually and/or read it ?

Wow, so something that has been the same since Bluefin is no longer allowed???

If you do that, and your pool is encrypted using a key, don’t you lose access unless you made sure to have a known good backup of said key(s)?

What specifically are you referring to as “no longer allowed”?

not specifying an IP for the web interface. I never have, and would never have guessed there is a need.

I still don’t know what you are referring to.
Are you saying that you’re now longer allowed to specify an IP for the web interface?
or
That you’re now longer allowed not to specify an IP for the web interface?
or
Something else?

It’s not clear.

You can specify an IP.
You’re not required to.

As per the OP, it seems you can no longer NOT specify an IP address, it is beyond me what part of his post your not getting sorry.
